Why You Need a Sleeping Mask in Your Skincare Routine

Before I got into this skincare game, I had no idea what a sleeping mask was. Face washes, moisturizers, and sunscreens – yes, these are common skincare products that I was familiar with. But a sleeping mask? Nah! But over the years, I have come to love sleeping masks – they are one of my favourite skincare products now.

The first sleeping mask I ever tried was the iconic Water Sleeping Mask by Laneige and instantly fell in love with it. Here’s my review of the famed sleeping mask!

Laneige Sleeping Mask

This sleeping mask comes in a blue jar with a tiny spatula to scoop the product out. It has a lightweight gel texture and a pleasant fragrance that’s not too overpowering.

Speaking of the ingredients, this blue sleeping mask comes with some good ones. Glycerin and sodium hyaluronate help hydrate the skin and beta-glucan gently reduces the signs of irritation. Featuring Sleeping Micro Biome™ and enhanced Pro-biotics Complex, it strengthens the skin barrier overnight for a bright and clear complexion.

How to use the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

This sleeping mask is to be used as the last step of your skincare routine. It has a gel-like consistency and a cooling sensation that’s soothing and calming, perfect for the nighttime. It gets absorbed into the skin easily and does not leave a sticky residue or greasiness behind. After a few minutes, the skin looks plump and hydrated and this Laneige mask gets absorbed into the skin.

Are sleeping masks a must-have?

Throughout the day, your skin is exposed to pollution, UV rays, bacteria, and changing weather conditions that can compromise its health and appearance in the long run. These environmental stressors can deplete your skin’s moisture levels and lead to dryness and irritation.

On top of that, many lifestyle factors such as diet and lack of sleep can further impact your skin’s condition.

A sleeping mask helps to combat these issues by working with your skin’s natural nighttime repair process. While it is not a must-have, a sleeping mask really does wonders for your skin overnight.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is one of the best sleeping masks out there. It is lightweight and loaded with tons of good ingredients that help calm and repair your skin overnight. The gel-like texture makes it perfect for all skin types, including acne-prone or oily skin.

I have been using this sleeping mask for many years now, on and off, and have no regrets so far. Every time I use it, I wake up with hydrated and healthy-looking skin!

On days when my skin feels extra dry or dehydrated, I even use it as a day moisturizer, and it works perfectly for my combination, acne-prone skin!

I’ve heard a lot about the Laneige line of products but haven’t tried them yet. Based on your review, it seems like a great sleeping mask to have, especially as the months get colder.

Yes, this one’s perfect for the winter months.

You can even try their new variant – Firm & Bouncy Sleeping Mask – it’s got a unique texture but blends nicely and hydrates well!
