As someone with combination skin that sometimes turns super oily as the seasons change, it is a task to find the right moisturizer that doesn’t make it an oily mess. I have used many moisturizers for oily skin but very few suit my skin. But a few months back, I got my hands on the cult-favourite Clinique Moisture Surge. It is one of the most popular moisturizers across the globe, and I was super excited to give this high-end skincare product a try!
Here is my review of the Clinique’s Moisture Surge™100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator.

This oil-free moisturizer is meant to give your skin a boost of hydration. It is formulated with hyaluronic acid and aloe bioferment, which help create a moisture reservoir for real hydration and lock in moisture for up to 100 hours!
The best part is the auto-replenishing technology formulated with caffeine and activated aloe water, which reactivates the skin’s internal water reservoir to provide nonstop hydration. In short, with just one use, you will have plump and supple skin!
| Hydrates Deeply | This gel moisturizer penetrates deep into the skin’s surface for lasting hydration. |
| Soothes Skin | It soothes and calms irritated, dehydrated skin, in just a few uses! |
| Protects Against Dehydrators | The moisturizer comes with a blend of vitamins C and E to help protect against daily dehydrators. |
Is The Clinique Moisturizer For All Skin Types?
Well, the brand claims that this 100H Clinique Moisturizer is suitable for all skin types. I have a combination, acne-prone skin and this gel moisturizer suited me well. However, it does look a little too dewy on my skin so I prefer using it in my nighttime skincare routine.
How To Use The Clinique Moisture Surge
It can be used as a regular moisturizer in your skincare routine.
Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, and use a toner and serum as usual. Then, scoop out a generous amount of the moisturizer and gently massage it on your face. Make sure to cover your neck too!
It has a lightweight, gel-like consistency that absorbs quickly into the skin. If you have oily skin, it’s best to skip your serum and directly apply the moisturizer. Alternatively, you can also use it as a sleeping mask.
Is The Clinique Moisturizer A Must-Have?
This moisturizer for all skin types is popular for a reason and rightly so. It instantly plumps and hydrates the skin, and is also a multi-purpose skincare product.
However, I did not notice anything extraordinary with this moisturizer. Sure, it does hydrate and plump the skin, but in my opinion, it is not a must-have. Also, it’s slightly on the expensive side. There are so many good moisturizers for all skin types that do the same thing, if not better, at a reasonable price!
