Remember those old-school cleansers that left your skin feeling tight, dry, and desperate for moisture? It was as if their sole mission was to strip your face of every drop of natural oil and moisture, leaving behind a squeaky-clean but uncomfortable mask. Thankfully, times have changed and brands are now creating formulas that not only cleanse but also nourish the skin.
But, I recently came across a face cleanser that reminded me of those old-school cleansers.
82e launched a new nourishing creme cleanser for dry skin. Since I loved their other two cleansers, Lotus Splash and Sugarcane Soak, I thought of trying out the new Kokam Plunge cleanser. Here’s my review of the newly launched 82e cleanser.
82e Kokam Cleanser for Dry Skin
The Kokam Plunge is a hydrating, low-foaming creme cleanser. It is infused with Kokum and Sodium PCA to thoroughly cleanse the skin while maintaining hydration and pH to prevent it from feeling dry and stretchy.

My Experience with Kokam Plunge Cleanser
As I mentioned earlier, I wanted to give this dry skin cleanser a try after loving the other two 82e cleansers. Although the brand claims this one is designed for people with dry to normal skin, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to test it on my combination, acne-prone skin.
The texture is quite buttery and luxurious. However, it comes with a distinct kokum fragrance that, while unique, felt a little too strong for my liking.
Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the promising first impressions. After rinsing, my skin felt clean but also slightly stretchy and tight, as if the cleanser had stripped a bit more than it should have. I decided to give it another try the next morning, hoping for a better outcome, but the results were the same.
It wasn’t unbearable, but it did take me back to those days when cleansers left my skin feeling tight. I can imagine this working beautifully for someone with dry skin who needs that extra clean feeling, but for my combination skin, it just didn’t feel quite right.
