Have you ever bought a skincare product because the product just looks so good, only to end up loving it for completely different reasons?
That’s pretty much what happened with the Fenty Beauty Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum.
Fenty Beauty has always been one of those fancy international brand. It was recently launched in India and I really wanted to try something from it. The Fat Water looked quite fancy, I liked the whole concept of it being a toner-serum hybrid, and honestly, I was curious to see what the hype was about.
I’ve been using the Fat Water Pore-Refining variant for a few months now, and this one actually surprised me in the best way. It feels cooling and refreshing as soon as I apply it, absorbs really quickly and, most importantly, doesn’t leave behind any greasy or sticky feeling. All of these things combined… is what my combination skin loves the most.
My skin feels soft, hydrated and supple after using it, and with regular use, I’ve also noticed that my complexion looks brighter and more refreshed.
So, was the fancy-looking bottle actually worth adding to my skincare shelf? After using it for a few months, here’s my honest Fenty Beauty Fat Water review.
What is Fenty Beauty Fat Water?
Yep, the term “Fat Water” does sound intriguing, and if you’re wondering what exactly it is, you’re not alone.
Fenty Beauty Fat Water is a toner-serum hybrid, which means its a mix of a traditional water-y toner and a lightweight serum. Instead of using a toner and then following it up with a serum, Fat Water combines the two steps into one product.
The Pore-Refining variant is designed to help with the appearance of pores while also hydrating and refreshing the skin. And despite the name, the formula doesn’t feel “fat” or heavy on the skin at all.

My Experience with the Product
My favourite thing about the Fat Water is how it feels on my skin. The first thing I notice when I apply it is the cooling sensation – it feels really refreshing, especially when my skin is feeling a little dull or tired.
The texture is slightly thicker than a typical water-y toner, but it’s still lightweight and spreads easily across the skin. It also absorbs pretty quickly, so I don’t have to wait around before moving on to the rest of my skincare routine.
And if you’re someone who doesn’t like sticky skincare products, you’ll probably appreciate this. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or tacky. Instead, my skin feels soft, hydrated and supple after applying it.
I’ve also noticed that my skin looks brighter and more refreshed when I use it regularly. It’s not one of those products where you wake up the next morning with completely different skin, but it does make my skin look and feel healthier and more hydrated.
How to Use Fenty Beauty Fat Water?
I use the Fat Water after cleansing my face and before the rest of my skincare routine.
I usually apply a small amount directly onto my hands and gently press it into my skin. You can also use a cotton pad if you like, but I personally prefer applying it without it.
Once it has absorbed, I follow it up with the rest of my skincare, usually a serum (sometimes), moisturiser and sunscreen in the morning.
Is Fenty Beauty Fat Water Worth the Hype?
Well, yes.
I originally bought Fenty Beauty Fat Water because, well, it’s Fenty Beauty and the product looked quite fancy. But after using it for a few months, it’s the actual formula that has made me keep reaching for it.
I love that it feels cooling and lightweight, absorbs quickly without any greasy or sticky residue, and leaves my skin feeling soft, hydrated and supple. The added brightness is another bonus.
But is it a skincare must-have? Probably not. There are plenty of good toners and serums out there. But if you’re looking for a lightweight product that gives your skin a nice boost of hydration while making it feel fresh and soft, I can definitely see why Fenty Beauty Fat Water has become so popular.
After using it for months now, I can say that I’m going to be repurchasing it once this bottle is over!
